You may be wondering why you should be concerned about a Time Reference in your writing. It's difficult to feel like you're making progress when you writing an essay never mind when you're writing an entire book. This method is a way to help you with those struggles, you'll feel like you're making progress every 20 words. By reverse engineered the writing styles of three successful books (The Perfect Storm, The Bedford Boys, A Civil Action) I discovered that they all use Time References to keep readers interested in their stories. In fact, when I reverse engineered Ernest Hemingway's book "The Old Man of The Sea" (which won him the 1954 Nobel Prize in Literature), I realized just how important Time References are in writing and this is only the 1st phase of the app. This mockup only lays the foundation, you can help with each iteration step by step as others are introduced.
Are you with the in crowd over 60 thinking about the cost of occupying your time? This technique may appeal to you. Not only will it keep your cognitive skills sharp, it'll also help you connect with old friends and family members that you haven't spoken with recently or thought that too much time has passed to call them, this is your excuse. Imagine writing a book or even an essay with a family member about your youth or an old friend about your high school years back in the day? You think you don't have the skills to write, just think about a crossword puzzle from the NY Times that gets more difficult as the week wears on. You can set the standards for easy, medium or hard and have a blast doing it and we can help. If writing a book is on your bucket list, now is the time. If you're anxious don't worry there won't be a steep learning curve, we'll have a dedicated YouTube channel that will address every one of your fears.
I've included a comparison of the first page of my book "$78 Million Heist" (with Time References highlighted in green) and the first page of Hemingway's "The Old Man of The Sea" to show the power of Time References in writing. If you're interested in being a beta tester for The 10 Story Pen you'll be giving us valuable feedback for this new writing technique. Please give it a try, when it goes live it will use the same technology as Chat GPT. Thanks for considering.
